The Home Builders Association of Northwest Louisiana operates House for Hope, a 501(c)3 charity. The House for Hope builds a new home, and our partner charities sell chances to win the house. Proceeds are returned to the community through our partner charities: Community Renewal International, Holy Angels, The Hub: urban ministry, and Providence House. Lives are changed.

Community Renewal International rebuilds caring communities through their Friendship House program. Like a community center in a home, a Friendship House is a place for after-school education programs, character building, service projects, GED courses, tutoring, computer training, art and music lessons, family nights and much more. The House is lived in by Community Coordinators and their families to become the catalysts for rebuilding safe and caring neighborhoods.

Holy Angels is an independent licensed residential training facility serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, from newborns to older adults. Their AngelWorks Day Program provides participants jobs in culinary arts, business services, horticulture, and creative arts. They have established a “Positive Supports Community” in their Center for Autism, by using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to enhance services for clients.

The Hub: urban ministry has two primary projects: the Lovewell Center is an outreach to the homeless and people in poverty, and Purchased exists to provide rescue, relationship, resources, and recovery to women in the sex industry and victims of sex trafficking. Dignity and worth are restored, and individuals are learning, growing, and gaining the tools they need to leave poverty and live a self-sufficient life.

The Providence House aims to break the cycle of homelessness by helping families gain the resources necessary to move permanently to independent living. They provide a hand up, rather than a hand out through short-term transitional housing in combination with an individualized support program including education programs, child care, parenting, money management, and life skills development.
